Following are the criteria to apply for United Way of Central New Mexico (UWCNM) Priority Focus Area Grant funding. If you answer NO to any of the following questions, your agency does not qualify to apply for funding through these grants. Please contact the Center for Nonprofit Excellence at www.centerfornonprofitexcellence.org or (505) 247-3671 for other funding sources and assistance options.
Criteria for UWCNM Priority Focus Area Grant funding:
All communication about the Priority Focus Area grant funding process, including training dates, site visit information and funding results, is done via email, so you must provide an accurate and active email account and ensure UWCNM’s emails are not spam-blocked.
- Does your agency provide health and human services?
- Does your agency provide services in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and/or Valencia counties?
- Is your agency certified by the IRS as a 501(C)3 organization?
- Does your agency meet UWCNM’s Social Action Policy? For more information, email Joanne.
- Does your agency meet UWCNM’s Non-Discrimination Policy and have a similar non-discrimination policy?
- Does your agency have a volunteer Board of Directors?
- Are your agency’s current administrative costs less than 25%?
- Is the amount of your agency's income from Governmental grants (line 1c of IRS form 990) less than 80% of total revenue?
- With your electronic grant application, your agency must provide hard or electronic copies of the following documents: 501(c)3 determination letter, most recent IRS Form 990, Board of Directors list with Board Chair’s email address and most recent audit if revenue > $500,000 or most recent financial statements signed by the Board Chair if revenue < $500,000.
