Community Fund
You want to maximize the impact of your gift. You can do that by combining your gift with the gifts of other local donors. In this united way, you help provide significant grants to a local network of quality, result-based, critical services. These include services to those who are hungry or homeless; adults or children who are being abused; others struggling with addiction, disability, or illness, etc.
By giving united, you also provide system-wide improvement efforts in local human services. The Albuquerque Family Advocacy Center is one example of system improvement. United Way partnered with the City of Albuquerque to bring 13 partner agencies under one roof to better serve victims of violence. In the first 16 months they have served over 8,700 victims – double or triple the number of victims served before.
These united giving efforts focus on helping the most vulnerable people in
Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance, and Valencia Counties.
In 2009-10, the Community Fund grants will support 102 programs, totaling $4,763,268 in grants to assist those most vulnerable in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia counties. This Fund ensures a continuum of services that addresses the most pressing issues, including education, hunger, homelessness, disabilities, family violence and healthcare. Community Fund Priority Focus Area Grants are program awards; funds cannot be used for overall agency operating expenses, sub-grants or major capital expenditures. The four Priority Focus Areas are:
