"When an American asks for the cooperation of their fellow citizens, it is seldom refused; and I have often seen it afforded spontaneously, and with great will."
----- Alexis de Tocqueville, 1835 The Alexis de Tocqueville Society is a leadership giving program of the United Way of Central New Mexico. It fosters, promotes, and recognizes the vital importance of voluntary community service and personal giving at an exceptional level while providing convenience, flexibility, and other benefits.
Because Tocqueville recognized, applauded and immortalized the voluntary spirit that lives in America's heart, United Way honors those giving at an extraordinary level who contribute $10,000 or more through United Way with membership in the Alexis de Tocqueville Society.
