The Alexis de Tocqueville Society of the United Way of Central New Mexico

"When an American asks for the cooperation of their fellow citizens, it is seldom refused; and I have often seen it afforded spontaneously, and with great will."
                                                                    ----- Alexis de Tocqueville, 1835

The Alexis de Tocqueville Society is a leadership giving program of the United Way of Central New Mexico.  It fosters, promotes, and recognizes the vital importance of voluntary community service and personal giving at an exceptional level while providing convenience, flexibility, and other benefits.

Because Tocqueville recognized, applauded and immortalized the voluntary spirit that lives in America's  heart, United Way honors those giving at an extraordinary level who contribute $10,000 or more through United Way with membership in the Alexis de Tocqueville Society.

Family Advocacy Center

Part of Advocating in your community is creating long-term change. Your United Way helped create this change in partnership with the City of Albuquerque and fourteen onsite agency partners by opening the Albuquerque Family Advocacy Center. The Center is a safe, secure and caring environment that focuses on the needs of victims of interpersonal crime.  The center is committed to providing victims of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault and their families with a safe setting to assist in addressing and overcoming the trauma of their experience and break the cycle of violence that destroys families.
